In this three hour workshop, take on the art of painting watercolour landscapes with a whimsical twist. IMA Public Gallery Artist Xinleh takes you through techniques for watercolour painting. Create personal atmospheric landscapes that balance the line between self-expression, imagination and technique. Explore the basics of composition, value and the versatility of watercolour as a medium in worldbuilding.
No experience required – this workshop is designed for beginners and those looking to build confidence with their watercolour technique.

Create original characters with a fun backstory and setting.
Over the course of this three-hour workshop, Xinleh unravels the process of creating appealing characters, encouraging participants to develop their own unique visual language. Study popular character design from famous artists, famous cartoons like Snoopy and Garfield, and learn about story, shapes, exaggeration, costuming. We will also look at how unique traits and setting can make a well-rounded character, and how to develop story and setting for the characters we create.
Materials Provided:
IMA will provide Pencils, Paper and a variety of mediums to experiment with from our art supply.
Participants may bring a notebook and any other materials or mediums of choice that they wish to create with.
